I used to be. I saw a former student this past Saturday. The one I spoke of a while ago that's a Christian recording artist. He was playing in Belmont so I jetted over to watch him. He was playing with John Michael Talbot of Mason Proffit fame from the 60's and early 70's. JMT was on tour with Joplin, Zeplin, Floyd and the like. Anyway, he's a Franciscan Monk now and does this traveling gig and my kid (now 37 years old) is his bass player. His name is Joe Hand and he can be found at www.joehand.com - He has some recordings on there in mp3 if you like. Mind you I am not preaching - I just figure if you like that genre then there is a place for you. Anyway, I forgot he hadn't seen me in a while and there was a complete look of confusion as he is trying to figure out who this guy is that knows him so well. Then it hits him as to who I am. We had a cool visit afterward catching up on old times. It's so cool to see one of my kids making it big like that. I still get a chuckle out of people when they finally recognise me. Take care and take fiber pills. kp

I will definitely check out that site KP. Thanks so much. I have a cousin that does gospel recording. His name is Lawrence Hubbard. He is pretty good. I am not into gospel as much as I adore Christian music, even though they are similar, they are still different. Anyway, thanks..... Myself and my son will be looking at that site. Shawn McGeachy

His CDs are available on there too. I, of course, got an autographed copy. So there. kp

As well you should. Neither of you knew back in the day just what turns his life would take and what a role you played in it. Hang onto this the next time the little demons refuse to tune or concetrate.

I just read his blog, you should be so proud of yourself and what you do for these kids. There aren't many teachers around like you anymore, if there are, i wish my kids had them as teachers. Congrats on such a wonderful success. Hugs Linda

Thanks for sharing the website. I have been reading some of these lyrics and I am impressed. I am going to bookmark and play around some more later. Now I want to make sure I am understanding this right. (sometimes I need it spelled right out for me) Joe Hand is your kid(student) and he is not the monk or he is a monk? Ok never mind...I think I just figured it out. I just read his bio and his blog......in which a Mr. Phillips is mentioned. How awesome! He wrote some very nice words about you. It must feel so good knowing how much you have impressed on others. Pat yourself on the back man. Too cool........positive vibes Megan
