Hi everyone I'm 5 weeks out and doing pretty good. I am having some issues of getting backed up. two weeks after my surgery I ended up in our very small community hospital with extream pain. They were able to determine I was totally compacted. I wont go into details on that whole process. They were able to call Dr. Schram and he talked directly with the doctor ( He's such a good man.)At my two week check up he put me on the liquid fiber a double dose---well its not working as well as I'd hoped I am drinking as much water as I possibly can and doing exercising. I go again for my 6 week checkup on Friday this will be the first thing we discuss. I've tried the thick stuff you add to water gag it back up,cant do fiber pills their too big, I was really hoping the liquid fiber would do the trick. I'm hoping my body is trying to adjust to my new body and things will start moving easier. Anyone have any other sugestions? thanks for trying to help out ANN S from S.H.

Hi Ann I was the same way. Since about two months out i have been taking omega 3 supplements. It has flax and fish oil in them. The flax is excellent to keep you regular, and the fish oil is great for your skin. They are kinda big, but are gel. You can get them over the counter for just a few bucks. I know some ppl just buy flax seed and grind them and mix it with their food, but that didn't work as good for me. I hope this helps you some Hugs Linda

Hi Anne, You can buy flax in liquid. I put it in the blender with my protein shakes. I think that way it will get in your system faster. But I agree with Linda, it is very good for you. How about taking a stool softener? They are not big pills - I would think you should be able to swallow them. I've heard ho****er with lemon is supposed to help. Good luck. Carey
