A new family member...
On Thursday night, our family arrived at Metro Airport to meet our latest family member. He is a foreign exchange student from Chile named David. We took on this responsiblility with some reservations, but it seems to be working out well so far. David has some limited trouble understanding some of the more complex vocabulary we use, but can pick up on most of what we tell him. We have him until June and have exposed him to some American cultural experiences new to him. His has experienced the wonders of "Captain Crunch" cereal, bowling, and the wonders of American baseball. I have reservations of exposing him to the American Icon we all affectionately call "KP" until he has adjusted to our culture. I'm sure after he experiences a double-barreled gastric explosing from Kevin and myself during our walking exercises at Lakeside, he will have plenty of stories to tell his family back home. He has already talked to several of my daughter's friend about "partying" in America. I only hope that he doesn't think that the #1 pasttime of American teenagers is getting drunk! It will be an interesting 9 months!

I'm BAAACK! I'm glad everything went well Thursday night. I am so happy you decided to join us before you left for the airport. BIG WILL was happy to see old friends and meet new ones! I just wish more members could of made it. I think it went very well. Everyone had issues and wanted to VENT! If BW had more time...I wanted to bring up some of my own! Lord knows I have PLENTY! As far as your house guest, it sounds like it it going to be a pretty interesting 9 months! I'm sure you'll share with us at the meetings. You should bring him to one...Hey! NO ALCOHOL served there...he-he!
