December 4th? When did you have your consult? I went the end of September and had a couple of things to accomplish for my insurance company, just waiting for the phys evaluation and will they call me right away? I want this surgery yesterday. I am just getting impatient. How long does it usually take after you have completed everything?

Jackie I had my consult in September. I was told what was needed and had a absolute caring and supportive staff at Real Weight Loss Solutions. From the day I left out the consult... I made the appoint for the pych eval, and other requirements needed plus my pcp had some testing he recommended before he endorsed my surgery. The most important factor is your doctor's endorsement for your surgery. I kept my pcp well informed of every step and process along the way. He provided Jackie I know its hard to stay patient...since I was told my surgery date... I can't sleep or stop talking!. My date given to me was a tenative date...which could be push up or back. For me everything hangs in the balance of insurance approval....after that approval..a DEFINITE surgery date will be set.

My doctor has already writting my letter and filled out the one for the insruance company since I have a ppo. I had my physc evaluation on the 6th of October and just waiting for him to turn in his report to the clinic. Once all that is in they told me it takes BCBS about 24-48 hrs to respond, what are my chances this will all take place? I thought meeting the requirments is enough, do you think I will have a denial and have to appeal? I can't take the set back, I am so geeked about this life changing event I could sing from the rafters. I am hoping to have this surgery by the end of this month ( which is what the doctor said to me when I was there for the consult) He told me if I had my evaluation the next Friday we could get this done by the end of October. I haven't had a call yet and I call daily to see if they have all my stuff. Do you think I am annoying them? Gosh I don't want to anger them I want this surgery so BAD! As you can all see I am doubting right now and need some encouraging words. I have changed my eating habits already and I kick box 3 days a week. ARGH!

Jackie I really don't know how long it takes...but I believe that everyones approval is unique in its own right. I have read many of posts of people getting approved and having surgery quickly and many others fighting to be approved. Far as the insurance process... I have no clue however, my surgeon has an excellent staff and I have yet to be let down. I have BC/BS Community Blue PPO and my paperwork was submitted on 10/11/06...I have not heard anything yet...I told myself that I would give it a week and if I haven't heard anything I am going to call. I don't think you are annoying them...I believe that people deal with stress alot of ways....and the waiting for insurance approval is STRESSFUL!!!!! Jackie hang in there and this is the place for words of encourgement and refuge.
