I thought I read somewhere in the Cori information that we should start taking protein supplements 2 weeks before surgery but I can't seem to find that info. Also, can someone share with me the best yogart and protein bars to buy. Name brand and where to purchase items.

It's suggested that you try some things to see how they work and taste. Also it helps the healing process to be building up before hand. Blue Bunny is good S/F and Pure Protein bars from Meijer or Kroger taste the best to me. kp

Hi Kathy: My NUT recommended Dannon Light N Fit for me. You can find this just about anywhere...Wal-Mart, Meijers. Fortunately (or unfortunately) I don't do protein bars. Best of luck to you! Maria W.

I eat the Dannon Lite N' Fit yogurt. My Dr and NUT said the sugars need to be under 13 and fat grams should be under 10. I also use Unjury Protein. It is the best...especially if you like chocolate. Their chocolate tastes like Nestle's Quik. My nutritionist said I should be their poster child! A month's supply is about $108 but the shipping is free on anything over $100. I haven't tried any protein bars yet so I can't help you there. Stacey

Kathy, don't spend a bunch of money before surgery on protein bars and drinks. Your taste will change and what you really liked before may taste horrible afterwards. My favorite yogurt is Dannon Fit & Light White Chocolate Raspberry. It's really yummy. I also like the Blue Bunny Carb Freedom (?) yogurt. About tastes changing - I HATED yogurt before surgery, now I love it.
