THREE YEARS & COUNTING
Yesterday was my three year rebirth anniversary. There have been so many changes in my life over the past three years that it is hard to tell them all. It blows me away to think that I am 1/2 of what I was three years ago. No more insulin, lipitor, synthroid, blood pressure meds or anything like that. I now take a multi vitamin, b12 shot monthly and that is it. I have noticed lately that I am struggling to make right choices again. I guess there will always be a problem with food issues. I do have help in getting somewhat ahead of the game. I still dump (just not as quickly as I used to). There are still things that I can't have. The major thing that I don't have that was a big problem before WLS was pop. I have not had a pop in 3 years. I have heard a lot of people say that it doesn't bother them this far out, but I am terrified to try because I might like it again & that would not be good. I only wish I would have had the same fear of sugar.
I am able to do so much more than before WLS. I went horseback riding, conoeing. I can walk and walk & walk. I have done as much as 7 miles at one time without stopping to catch my breath or rest.
I have lost a total of 168 pounds. I would still like to lose at least 25 more. If I don't my world won't end. The truth is if I hadn't done this 3 years ago, I WOULD NOT BE HERE TODAY.
I am so thankful for this wonderful gift...a tool that I can use the rest of my life. My hope is that I never neglect this tool.
PEGGY JONES
Congratulations Peggy...one of the original "oldtimers" from the board! And I don't mean that in age...I mean that in WL years!
I too will be hitting 3 years out December 1st. Go**** seems just like yesterday! You have done so well at keeping off the weight and following the program, and I admire that in you! I have unfortunately gained back some, but I'm still way ahead of the game than I was! I never stop trying to achieve my goal! Glad to hear you are doing so well! Hugs, Theresa

Peggy,
Congratulations on your 3 year ReBirthday. Keep up the great work. Sounds like you are doing so well. It has been 19 months for me and 5 months for hubby. It is great to be able to do the things that we could not do before surgery. I have not had pop for 20 months now, and won't start as I am afraid that I would get hooked on it and it is not good for me anyhow.
The very best to you Peggy.
Brenda and David
