NOW I'M NERVOUS!

Good News Harper Hospital has recieved their "Center of Excellence". I Applied to Cori back in Feb I was approved and waiting since then. That's when Medicare put a stop to all Bariatric surgery for Medicare patients. Finally after waiting 8 months I finally recieved the call today and my surgery is set for Monday October 23, 2006. Dr. Michael Woods will be doing the surgery.

Awesome!!! I am so excited for you. I don't blame you for being anxious. We all have studied this and are very aware of the the pros and cons. So you are to be given a new lease on life. Good for you!

Congrats!!!!!! Did you say medicare has stopped approval on gastric bypass? I just wondered as I am going next week to Hurley Dr. Wagner and am ready to set it up. Thanks Chris

Hi Chris, No they haven't stopped approval but, It depends what hospital your doctor is out of. There are only 4 hospital in MI right now that have been approved as a "Center of Excellence". that's the difference.
