Brian, appeal. Appeal appeal appeal.
Was the weigh****chers and medical weight loss charted and documented in your medical information from your doctor? then it should not have been denied.
appeal it, don't give up and fight it hard. Many people here have been denied and appeal and get approved. So fight and we are behind you my friend.

One word: APPEAL
I've seen lots of insurance companies deny the first submittal. My own insurance denied me and I did my own appeal, resubmitted all that was originally submitted, added in a few more things and I won!!!!!
Don't give up, get your records from WW and MWL and submit them all to the insurance company! It really is worth all the hassel, frustration, and stress

I would appeal, Brian. I don't have the same insurance that you do, but I do know that Medical Weight Loss is medically supervised and DID county as my medically supervised diet. Did you get your records from them? It cost me $40 to get my file from them, but it was worth it. I even drove to Southfield and picked them up. I would appeal and begin a medically supervised diet now with your PCP, just in case.
Keep your chin up and keep fighting. Tina
Brian, FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT, THEN EIGHT SOME MORE!!!! Your insurance co. like most of them will deny you the first time and maybe a couple of more times after that. They don't want to pay for this surgery. It's expensive. They will try to discourage you any way they can until you give up and go away!. Don't let them do that to you. Show them you are a fighter. Sooner or later you will get approval. Start your supervised diet, and behavior modification classes A.S.A.P. make sure your P.C.P. puts it in your records. but in the meantime appeal this decission. You can have it overturned. If you give up then you will never have this life saving surgery, and you will lose~a lot mor than just a fight with the insurance co. Try to hang in there.
God bless you,
Annette

Do Not Give Up I had to do 3 appeals and it took me almost a year to get my approval. I learned so much in that year that I am thankful for the way it has all unfolded. Sometimes I would think they wanted my first born child to be able to have the surgery. They dont want to pay 40 to 50 thoudand dollars it took sitting down and writting a 4 page letter with all the information I could come up with.
Keep going, apeal ,apeal,apeal
