Yesterday ( sunday) was a nice day here in MIchigan. So my husband , myself and his parennts decided to go away for the day.
Well.. we get home and our answering machine is going NUTS!!! Then the phones rings again a friend of ours asked for my husband and tells him .". A car fell on BRandon ( my 21 year old) and the life flighted him to the trauma center." Ok we rushed back in the car and made a hour drive in 20 MINUTES!!! Omg folks I was so scared , I had NO clue of the shape he was going to be in when we got there.Do you all realize when you call 911 from a cELL phone you do NOT get your LOCAL dispatch center?? When 911 was called yesterday we found that out.. Don ( his buddy) got someone far away and had to tell them what COUNTY he was in.
We saw Brandon.. he was very shook up..he was crying say .." I thought i was dying." Thank the good Lord a buddy ( Don) was with him when the accident happened or my son would be DEAD today!!!
Brandon ended up with his ear being tore 3/4 the way off, stitches in his head, a burn type thing on his chest from the car frame and other minor scrapes.
How do you thank a person that saved your son's life??
thanks for listening,
Pam
I lost one of my best friends to a similar accident when we were 18 so i'm really really glad to hear your son is going to be okay.
You can't really thank someone for saving your son's life, you can only express your gratitude and know that saving a life comes with it's own rewards. I'm sure Don is as glad and thankful that Brandon is alive as you are.
Hi Pam,
I am so happy this turned out so well. This has happen to my DH a couple of times in his life. Both times he was VERY forunate. I always worry about him when he is in his garage playing with his Big Boy Toys....lol. He is a Big Car Guy.
I think Jay said it best. We can't ever thank someone for heroism, we can only show our deep gratitude. God Bless----Toni

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes.
Brandon is doing ok.. he is quite sore tho. Right now his chest and his ear are the worst. The car frame was laying on his chest till rescue could raise the car off him.He had the car blocked up but the jack slipped and the car came down.
thanks again
Pam
Pam...my heart breaks for you. First and foremost, thank God that he spared your son and no words could ever convey the gratitude you must feel toward the man who saved him. I am so happy that he is ok. You are right, it IS a mothers worst nightmare. I'll be praying for healing for your son, Brandon as the weeks pass.
Hugs...Lori
