Judy, I'm so happy for you......... I'm betting you will be set up for orientation and surgery soon... I did go today to MMPC for a group orientation...... and met with the PA for a last physical prior to surgery. I had so hoped we would be there about the same time. Anyway I start my pre-op diet tomorrow, surgery is on the 13th.....Bought my chewable childrens vitamins with iron on the way home..... Glad to hear your on your way too.. Connie .

There were four of us in this group plus my husband went along with me. It started out with the dietitian, discussing pre-surgery diet along with 64 oz of decaffinated fluids & the chewable childrens vitamin with iron daily....The diet is a 10 point system.......75-150 grams of protein,800-900 calories...The liquid drinks count as 1 point per serving the solids such as the candy bars, oatmeal, meal/soups and soy nuts count as 2 points for total of 10 points per day. Believe me its going to be interesting as I'm told some of the sutff is pretty nasty tasting by other post-op patients . I also picked out my post-op foods today. The people locally will be back next week for vitals, weigh in and blood work so they will get there post-op foods then. I will do the same with my pcp in Lapeer and they will call it into MMPC. Next the exercise physiolgist came into discuss the importance of exercise & tips for success. Then the PA came in talked where the surgery would be performed @ Blodgett, the floor you report to, getting ready for surgery, etc. After the Pa was done speaking, one of the nurses takes you back weighs you, the Pa then comes in discusses the surgery you have selected and we sign the consent form... He also listend to my lungs checked my throat, vitals.... Upon check this morning I paid my $629.00 co-pays. That was pretty much it.... Connie
