Frustrations begin......
So in 4 weeks I'm scheduled to have my tummy tuck. I've waited several months for this.
What my frustrations are were presented to me this morning at work.
See, I don't have enough sick time and vacation time to take off for recovery.
But I am in a union and people can donate time for my recovery if they so choose.
Today, is when supposedly the "email" will go out to all staff members in this department to provide me with time to recover. They can donate from their own time, or choose not to. I won't know for a couple weeks.
In 2 weeks, October 9 is my pre-op tests in Ypsilanti.
What do I do? If I don't have time to take off, I cannot take time off unpaid, (union contract states so) then I can't have surgery. Period. No room for possiblities.
How do I cope with this frustration of not knowing what will happen so close?
Should I just think positive ***DUH***.....and know that it's all going to work out????
(my personal choice is that one!)
OR..........
should I fret and worry and wonder for the next few weeks what really will happen?
I never realized it would come down to my having frustrations...which is causing my stoma to be upset, which is causing me to feel anxieties and also causing me to feel pressure. Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/mbgraphics/emoticons/angry.gif)

I know I have plenty of people here who will support me, I know that people here are giving, and I think I have very small fears that there will not be time for me to take off.
I just need to vent, and voice my concerns.....being 4 weeks to surgery that will change forever how I look..............
Thank you for letting me vent.

Hey Stacey,
I am so glad to hear things are going to work out for you! How exciting. I haven't decided if I would do the whole plastics thing yet. It is hard enough to make that decision and then have other things to worry about. So glad it is working itself out. Don't fret girl it will happen!
Hugs,
Di
Hope things will work out for you. If 15 people will donate one day each; it will be great. You can always donate back to them.
Calm your tummy down. Pre surgery jitters are normal. Maybe you need to start taking a daily acid reducer, if you aren't yet.
The surgery is well worth it.
Will keep you in my prayers. Good luck Stacey.
If it makes you feel any better, I was scheduled for a tummy tuck May 31st, and had to wait until May 27th to find out that I lost my appeal with HAP and had to cancel at the last minute. I had the Hysterectomy and bladder repair and will just have to jump through a few more hoops and get the tummy tuck next summer. It all works out in the end. Right? Carol
Hey thanks everyone......
Mary Jo.....I am 13 months out- soon to be 14 months out.
I've lost 155lbs total, and am at the 100 lbs lost per BCBS/Comm blue PPO,
and got approved first time, and my pcp also approved it.
I just went for it after 1 year. Try it. And I highly recommend DiNick @ barix.
His staff (CAREY!!!) is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
Friends in arms.....definately.
Stacey

Hi Stacey! My name is Lori and I am scheduled in two weeks for full tummy tuck. Since I did wonderful with the gastric bypass I do feel that positive thinking and making sure you keep up with protein and a multivitamin are key factors. I am only taking one week off of work and am certain it will work out being as I watched a friend go through it and she did fine. Hopefully your coworkers will be generous and help you out, but really I feel positive thinking and nutrition, along with rest will heal your body before you know it. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. Good luck!
