Crying... :(
Kim,
I posted this on another board the other day:
My surgeon had there webpage updated this week and I thought this might help some of us who are thinking that we are losing slower than others. It did me I see that I'm just about where I should be considering that I haven't been able to do the excercising I thought I could do because of my knee and now the pools closed so I'm not even doing that. I need to stop procrastinating and get to the indoor pool.
I also do bettter than with written words than graphs.

DON"T CRY!!!!!! (((((hugs)))))
I not too long ago sat and had a pitty party for myself about weight loss too. I had surgery after you, but was also 97lbs heavier than you to start with. I am down 111 lbs and I have been very fortunate to not have had any real plateaus......until now! As we get further and further along in this journey our bodies need time to catch up and re adjust to how we are CURRENTLY. At first if I just blinked I was dropping 10lbs, now not so much LOL and I attribute alot of it to my body adjusting to 111 lbs different than in the begining.
Did you take any measurements? I did and that to me is a better way to look at where you have come than to compare numbers to fellow loosers. Everyone looses at different rates......just keep with your "program" and you will do JUST fine! Do you utilize any support groups? If not maybe see if you can'r find the time to attend....those always seem to make me feel good about what I HAVE accomplished and forget about what is NOT happening.
Hang in there.....this too shall pass!

I too felt the same as you. I had surgery after you (April 6). I have had a few crying moments also. But than thought wow I have not lost this much weight in 18 years. This journey we have choosen for are selves is a great ride....... some go fast, some slow, but I think in the end we all will reach the same destination. Just think about how good you feel & every day gets better & better. Good luck to you. You look great.

Hi Kimberlina
Don't compare yourself to others, we all loose at our own pace. WOW... You are doing great..
so don't feel like a failure. I do know what you feel like though, as I have been at a stall for a couple of weeks, and hate it. Today I am 6 weeks post-op and only down 21 bs. since surgery day. I read other profiles and too think I am a much slower loser, but don't think there is anything we can do about it. But please look at how much you have already lost, could you have lost that much on any other diet or program?? Stay posative...with hugs heading your way.
***HUGS***

I had my surgery on September 15, 2005 and I have lost 90 lbs as of today. I had lost 94, but for some reason, my weight has been jumping up and down. Girl, that is depressing, as I was considered 'a light weight' compared to most of my doctor's patients!
I am trying to cope as best as possible. I want to get down to 130, or about 15 lbs. My doctor never set a goal weight for me - I set one for myself. I'm just a few lbs away from where I was when I graduated from high school in 1979, and they tell you that you shouldn't expect to be at your high school weight.
Next time you cry, it had better be tears of happiness, or I'm gonna come and make you laugh so hard you will cry!!
Kimberlina,
I have had several stalls "plateaus" in the 5 months since my surgery. I just keep doing what I should be doing and eventually the scales start moving again. In June I had a 3 week stall!!! I finally got it moving by cutting out carbs and upping my water intake. It is also important to exercise. I walk. Try walking 2x a day until you bust through and lose.
I also try to pamper myself with a new top or pants or maybe a pedicure. Keep doing what you know you should do and it will come off.
Best Wishes,
