Incision bleeding???

I'm 10 days out and I went to my first post-op visit today, the surgeon said my incisions weren't infected, were healing ok, etc......it wasn't until I got home that I noticed a few little blood drops on my shirt right where my biggest incision is. (I had lap so where the camera went in is my biggest) All my incisions have a dark, almost black, scab on them. Tonight, after cleaning the house and bathing my 2 yr old I noticed more blood spots on my shirt but when I look at it and feel it, it's dry and not open. I'm wondering if maybe as I move around the scabs are shifting or breaking or something and a little blood is coming out. Has anyone else had this happen????

You are probably oozing a little because you are moving around but STOP CLEANING THE HOUSE YOU JUST HAD SURGERY. Sorry. kp

I can't help it!! I can't stand a messy house, besides, I'm the only one who knows how to clean up around here!! (smile) Thanks for responding, that does make sense and I feel better. (It is OK to "ooze" a little isn't it??)

Oozing a little fluid is ok. Straight on blood or a constant flow is cause for concern. You activity level should be limited to walking. Your house will be fine. Jon will be there in the morning to straighten it out. kp

Yeah, I think you are oozing some, which is normal. I had the lap, and my largest incision leaked a light pink liquid for about 2 weeks. At first it was "drip, drip, drip"....pretty fast! It was weird! I put a sanitary napkin inside my binder and that absorbed it well and kept my clothes clean. I guess it just has to work itself out, and it's true, the more you move, the more it will ooze. But Kevin is right, be careful of your activity. Don't overdo it. Hugs, Theresa
