2nd. Stricture already
This past Wednesday I hit my 5 weeks post-op. Two weeks ago today I had a scope with Dr. Baker, he found that I had an Ulcer along with a stricture, which was down to a 8, so he ballooned it open to a 15. Felt much much better after that, for only a week. I went for a week of getting sick again after I ate or drank anything. Finally I called Dr. Footes nurse, she set me up for another scope yesterday. This time Dr. Foote said I was down to a 7, so he ballooned me back open to a 16 1/2. He also said that I would most likely end up wiht 1 possibly 2 more strictures, as I am still healing inside. He did tell me that the next time I felt like I had one, to not wait so long to get into him. He said while in there he could tell that I had not eaten in quite some time as my intestine was not contracting like it should be. Today I feel like a brand new person and can eat, drink, and even take my pills. I FEEL GREAT!!
Just wanted to share this with you. You know, even after having these problems, this is one surgery I DO NOT regret having. In the long run, it will be so well worth all the time and effort put into it.

Hi Tracey,
WOW...you had 6 strictures?? How far out were you when you had your last one? My Dr. told me that I would most likely have 1 possibly 2 more, and for me to no be too surprised when it happens. This time I know to not try to wait it out. I just hated to go through that and find that wasn't the problem. I hate to complain.
Thanks for posting, and keep up your great weightloss.
*hugs*

Cheryl, I met someone at our NUT meeting yesterday that was having the same problem. The nurse said that the problem is that you're healing too well. So far I've been lucky and not had any problems except for the diarrhea. I am glad you don't have any regrets and once they get you all fixed up, you'll do wonderful.
Hi Ann, You don't happen to remember that persons name do you? At times, I feel so alone going through something like this, until I hear of others that have been through it. WOW...that Dr. Foote of ours sure knows his stuff. He is such a kind caring person, I feel blessed to have him for my Dr. He did tell me that same thing, that I was still healing in there, he even took a picture of one of my stitches...
then said that he wouldn't be surprised to see me for at least 1 possibly 2 more strictures, because of the way I am healing. I guess it is a good thing....right?? I am so glad you haven't had any problems, and I think we all go through that diahrea stage. Nope, no regrets here. I hate the strictures, but WOW I feel like a new person being able to eat again, and NOT get sick...WoooHoooo.
Thanks for posting, as always it is so great to hear from you.
Big **HUGS** to you

Hi Judy...Great to hear from you. I am hanging in there, knowing there are better days ahead. I love your advice, even though you are pre-op...now you just better remember this if you have tough times. haha I am still very happy having this surgery and wouldn't change it for the world. IT will get better, I know.
Hugs,
Cheryl
