We posted in the wanted section of our local paper for my daughter when she joined band in 5th grade! She is now in 11th and has the same flute! We paid 100 dollars for her Gemeinhardt and although it is EXPENSIVE to maintain, band is so worth it. She is a great kid and band turned her grades around as well as the company she keeps. Good luck and don't just buy any old brand, it has to be a couple of certain types of flutes, maybe KP would know more about that. Wendy
