3 month anniversary
I had my 3 month appointment today. I am down 54 lbs and 100% healthier! My blood pressure is normal. My ONLY bothersome problem is constipation. I opened my purse and took out the Duclax, Fiber Wafers, and Ex Lax.
They recommended fruit juice! At the other place I was going to, we only could have that in the liquid stage. I am willing to try anything! Another odd thing is that they say no bread, rice, and/or potatoes for 6 months! I swear at Cori I was allowed that sooner. Also at least 2 protein drinks a day! I am so glad that I had my appointment today. I learned so much. As well as I have been doing, I could be doing a LOT more!! Also, I have been stuck at my present weight for about 3 weeks. Dr Kole told me to go back to liquids for a few days.
Wow! What a smart idea! Why didn't I think of that??

Keep up the good work. Sometime, I have read, people will get stuck. My mom had surgery in June. She was stuck at the same weight for like 6 weeks but every 10 days she was losing a pant size. I believe you have to stop losing at some point to let your body shrink to what you have lost. Good Luck on you continued success.

Congratulations Robin on your 3 month birthday.
Gosh, I had my 3 month appointment today and they told me the exact opposite. We now have to eat between 1000 and 1200 calories a day. No soups, juice, milk only with cereal in the morning, no more protein drinks (get it all from food). I have the exact opposite problem because I get diarrhea a lot. We can eat anything we want to if our pouch tolerates it. I've been doing mashed potatoes since week 2. My pouchie doesn't care for much bread. It only likes Aunt Millies 5 grain light bread and then only 1/2 slice at a time. They were happy with my weight loss at 60 lbs. I guess it all depends on the doctor/nutritionist. I also have to take between 1000 & 1200 mgs of calcium citratrate. That means 6 - 8 citracal petites a day. Those things are hard to swallow because they're so fat, I might have to crush them and put them in my yogurt.
