I have an appt. with Dr. Schram in the morning. This will be the 2nd meeting. I have ins. now that will pay for WLS so I am going back to see how long before I can have surgery. I am seeing a doc at Borgess in K-zoo, but I feel they are so strick. They will not budge to do anything with insurance until they know 100% everything will be covered. Big issue with BCBS. Ins. tells me 12 months of visits but not every month. Borgess says yes it has to be every month 100%. So I am going back to Bariax clinic to see what they have to say since they do this more and they seem more hooked up with BCBS. I think I like Dr. Schram a little better. So I think the revisit will be good to confirm my feelings.
I am very excited to see what happens. I do know worse case I get to have surgery in April 2007.......... I know I am a cry baby...it just seems so far away. I am just thinking maybe Bariax will look at my paperwork different than the other place. Didn't think it would hurt to try. I am bad for thinkings this way?
Any thoughts anyone?
Becky
Becky I have bcbs as well, my letter did not state that i was there every month for 12 months. It stated that I was being supervised by my PCP for 12 consecutive months, and I also used barix. I Loved Dr Schram, I think you will be very happy with him as a surgeon. Good luck with your appt tomorrow, I hope that you get the news yours looking for.

Stacy,
Yeah, I know I like Dr. Schram, I was just trying to stay closer to home to have things done. But I am starting to feel going to a place that just does WLS surgery all the time might be better.
I say my PCP in Dec. Feb. and every month since April. I actually have been working with him since early 2004 with my metabolic syndrome. But we have been really focused since late last year. I have not been able to exercise due to a herniated disc in my back. I now have a letter from my neurosurgeon advising the WLS surgery is medically necessary. I know the Bariax clinic will now how to use the paperwork better to my advantage.
Thank you for you note. It helps to think the distance will be worth it after all.
