Just need to vent....And some good news.

Well things have been so up and down in the last week... Our adoption paperwork from Dept of Homeland security came on Saturday which means we just have to travel to Lansing to get the Great Seal and off it goes to our adoption agency to send to China!! YEAH.. Except our PCP messed up on our paperwork so we have to have it filled out for the 3rd time and that is delaying us this week. So Thursday I can get that taken care of, otherwise I would have driven to Lansing on Monday morning. I also found out today that when I have my TT later this year I do not qualify for STD through my employer. I am a Floor Supervisor which is a Manager, but because of my availability I get paid a little less, and now I find out I do not get these small benefits either. I do the same job as the other managers but I get paid less which is fine with me but these small benefits mean a lot. Also I do not get the 2500 adoption benefit that McDonalds offers to their employees. I am just a glorfied crew member! What a load of crap huh?? That pissed me off the most.. But the good news is that in two days I am leaving to go to the Happiest Place on Earth. Disney World!! I will be able to ride roller coasters and walk for hours on end because I have lost 158 pounds. I have wanted to go since I was 5. I am so anxious to go!!! I cannot wait. I hope everyone is fine and I am sorry that I have been lurking lately!! Suzanne

Suzanne~ Our friends who are adopting from Guatemala had to have their pediatrician fill out papers at least twice because the government (Guatemalan, not US) needed to be able to read each and every letter - and you know how some doctor's sign their names! Not receiving the credit from Mickey Dee's really "suxs". Sorry to hear that. I am an adult adoptee who appreciates each and everyone of you who do this. Please remember this is not an event but instead it intertwines throughout each of your lives. Be open and honest about it all with him/her. You will never regret it. Those of us adopted during the secret times can tell you first hand the adverse affects of those secrets. Also about the STD for the tummy tuck. Is there time that you could purchase the coverage yourself? Do the math first and see if paying the premiums will be less than what you will lose while being off. Then if the premium are less as they say GO FOR IT. Finally enjoy Disney World. I am so jealous! It's such a fun place for all ages. You will have a blast. Patt
