Do you use FitDay?
I have been searing for a software program to use in keeping track of my food intake/calories, exercise, weight, measurements and also keep a personal written journal. And I think FitDay has everything I'm looking for.
But I have a few questions:
- Have you downloaded the FitDay Home PC version? Is it worth the $19.95 to have a private version of the software?
- Does the Internet-based version keep your records indefinitely or only for a certain number of weeks?
- Does this program track everything you want it to? Or have you found some things lacking? What are they?
Thanks for your help

I use the internet version. Since I work, I didn't want to wait to put stuff in until I got home. I enter both from home and work. The only thing it doesn't do is track sugars but I use the spot for alcohol (who uses that anyway) and put them in there. This way it's tracked. I did email fitday and asked about the sugars. They say they are working on it. I have tried several other programs but this one is by far the easiest to use and see.
I use FitDay only when I my tolerance is up. I get aggrevated with it..or maybe I'm not using it correctly, but like today, I went to add in the nutritional information on some Sugar Free cookies I had, and when I was all done it told me that the calories didn't match the amount of fat or carbs.. and it wouldn't let me enter the information the way it was on the product label. So now I don't know how to enter it. Also, sometimes I don't all the nutritional information and it won't let me enter in what I do know. It also takes waaaaaaaayyyyy too long to look some things up.. I had some of a small chicken salad from ya ya's, and I can't seem to break it down..... so then I give up and don't journal. Some people love it, but it seems to aggrevate me more than anything.
I like the expanded features they talk about with the "Home" version - but I also need to enter on multiple computers. I'm wondering if I can run the program from a flash drive rather than have it installed on just a single computer. Mmm... might need to write to them and ask about that option.
I totally understand about problems entering certain foods. Sometimes the programmers logic isn't always the same as mine, so I can't find what I'm looking for. But I really want something where I can "KEEP" my information locally on my computer and not rely on some internet site to save my journaling and calorie entries.
In the past I've used www.nutridiary.com and really like their "meal" feature where you can group a bunch of foods together so you don't have to enter it every time. For instance, my typical dinner is a chicken breast, steamed broccoli and a side of rice (remember I'm still pre-op)... so I could enter those 3 things into a 'meal' and just choose that meal each evening after dinner and it's already all programmed for me. I can't seem to find that feature on FitDay.
Thanks for your opinions... more are always welcome.
