Hello all- I have Mcare and they denied me(for panniculectomy) 2x saying it was "cosmetic" when I had rashes etc. Since BCBS just bought out Mcare-wondering how easy it is to get approved with them...any advice would be appreciated...I dont want to pay cash..but if i have to I will.. Thanks Shannon

Me too. BCBS PPO Community Blue- pre-approved with at least one year out from WLS and and lost at least 100 lbs. I had it about 2 years ago, so don't know if things have changed much. TT was covered fully, but muscle tightening cost me $1,000 out of pocket. Good luck! Theresa

Hijack... Theresa, I have a question for you... I have Priority Health Primary and BCBS secondary... I know you don't have the PH, but with regard to the TT and such. I don't have a whole lot of excess skin, no rashes or anything, but none the less, I do have some excess skin. For BCBS, do you have to have proof of rashes and such? Also, with the muscle tightening, my stomach muscles are all crap from having monstrous babies (10 lbs +) and they have that split down the middle. When I lay on my back, I look like I have the Grand Canyon in the middle of my abdomen. Then when I lift my head up, like a partial sit up, everything sticks out. Do you think this qualifies as a hernia? I guess I just don't want to have to pay much out of pocket... Who knows? Danielle

BCBC covered 100% in December for me... I also had a hernia done at the same time.
