Opinions requested
Hi all, I am in need of some opinions. Everytime I eat, even if it is a bite, I get a stabbing, gut-wrenching pain in my belly throughout the belly button region (about a 2 inch diameter around). This also happens if I drink more than a sip or two at once. It seems that lately in order for me to get anywhere with my doctors I must go in with some ideas aas to what I want them to investigate. If you have any ideas as to what I may be experiencing please email me directly at [email protected]
Thanks in advance for any help that you can lend.

Hi Sandy!
Good to see you!
Before I answer, I want to say I'm NOT a Dr., and of course you should seek their advice, but here's my story...
I had this exact thing a few months ago.... Stabbing pain in my tummy every time I ate OR drank anything. My dr. put me on nexium and after even the first pill, I was doing much better. After two or three days, I was good to go. I think my pouch was just irritated. I was drinking alot of coffee at the time and not eating much. Stopped that and behaved, and with the pill, I was good to go.
Hope it's as simple for you!
Hugs, Theresa
I too had (have) the same thing. Dr put me on Previcid, but it didn't help. After many test (all coming back normal) they have come to the conclusion that my pouch is just spasming. It only happens with the first bite or drink that I take. Now that happens a lot since I try to eat 5-6 times a day. If I am drinking pretty regularly through the day it only happens with the first drink of the day, but if I go for a while without drinking it happens everytime with that too. I see Dr. Schuhknecht next week & hope he can shed more light on the subject.
I don't think I have helped too much to know what your problem is, but it is good to know I am not alone.
Sandy,
I am so sorry to hear you are having this pain. Hopefully you can find out what is going on, and soon, as it sure don't sound fun. I was in somewhat of that pain, last friday, but mine ended up being a stricture and my new pouch has a nice ulcer in it already. The Dr. put me on 3 meds to help...and WOW are they really helping me. Best of luck, and pray for you to feel better soon.
Hugs,
Cheryl
