TT & Hernia Repair

I'm so happy! My hernia has been driving me nuts for months now...I went to the plastic surgeon 8/23 and found out yesterday that my TT along with my hernia repair have been approved!!! I'm so thankful. I go for a 2nd visit to the PS on 10/4, then see my surgeon...It'll probably be December or so before I actually have my surgery. I know, it's gonna be a miserable recovery, but well worth it in the long run Lizzie B (while I still can!)

You hit the nail on the head Lizzie - It's a miserable recovery but well worth it in the long run!!!! I personally haven't hit the "long run" yet and I'm still in the "miserable" stage (even 5 mths out)!!!! But when I look back at the photos I submitted to Aetna for approval - I see all that I've gained and it helps me to quit complaining about the recovery part!!!!! Congrats on getting it all approved!!!!!!! Who's doing your surgery?? laurie

Thank you, Toni! I love your new picture, too! My surgeon is Dr. Alghanem in Flint. He's the PS Dr. Obeid likes to work with, so I'm sure he's very good. I know that he's very nice, calm...he really took his time with me. If you've heard of him or know of him, please let me know...I posted but didn't get any responses back in August.

I had Dr. Algahaneim and just loved him...just like Dr. Obeid. He was very thorough and took excellent care of me. Good luck to you. I also wanted to tell you...I was expecting a terrible recovery and thought it was nothing compared to the RNY. Take care, Tracey

You sure do, Theresa!! I hate this hernia so much, I'm willing to go through it just for that alone!! Of course, my hubby is tired of seeing me pull on my loose skin and complain that I still look fat! Thank you for taking a minute to read and respond to my post...I really appreciate the support!

Hi Shawn! Were you able to make it to the Chelsea/A2 support group meeting on the 1st? I hope so, I'm so sorry I didn't make it...life just keeps on happening and lately it's been happening so much I feel like I can hardly breathe! We had every intention of coming right up to the last minute, then got an emergency call from my one of my daughters, on her way to the ER...she's fine, praise God...but she did end up having surgery a week later. I'm really looking forward to meeting you next month. Thanks for the good wishes and encouragement! Lizzie B
