I was billed $7,000 from the hospital and $1305 from my surgeon for my hernia repair and TT!!!! This is WAY TOO MUCH! After spending two weeks in phone calls to the insurance company and having to prove to them they they already preapproved my surgery (they said it wasn't covered) I finally got it all straightend out. Now I owe the hospital $150 and surgeon $85 Much much better!!! Although I'm sick of having this problem with Aetna. It seems like anytime I have any major bill this is what they do. Why can't they get it right at least "some" of the time

Hey Laurie, Aetna did the same thing to me with my bariatric surgery. They ended up paying it after tons of phone calls and faxes. Misty

It's so frustrating. I FEEL like (not accusing anyone of anything) the insurance companies do things like this on purpose just to get money from people who don't bother to read their bills!!! Won't work with me. I read the bills from head to toe and then match them up with my EOB. I'm very blessed to have gotten a tt and hernia repair and only have to pay this small amount. The total bills were over $27,000!!!! So yes - I do thank God for insurance, even when they do mess up a lot Laurie
