thanks rae. I will be sure to ask the surgeon about that. From what i understand, he is very agressive and very thorough. Believe me, i will find an answer to this, i just hope it's soon. How have you been, i haven't seen you in a while. Hugs Linda

Did the urologist do a KUB? I am not a DR but I am becoming pretty knowledgeable when it comes to kidney stones. If she has blood in her urine she still can have a possible kidney stone. My urologist says that if you have gas in your system, a kidney stone is VERY hard to see. I should know ~ I went to him on a Tuesdayand he said no kidney stone but he saw ALOT of gas. WELL........ Low and behold I produced a wonderful kidney stone the following Sunday night and thank goodness I passed it. So she can still have one! Make sure they do every possible kidney test and have them run her urine for crystals. Hope she gets better soon!

Thanks for the reply Tami. See , this is why i am so aggressive with doctors. The urologist totally blew her off after only an ultrasound, said it must be a gyn problem cause shes pre menstrual. the gyn doc found a few cysts that popped on their own, so then it must be a gastric problem.....my pcp was very upset and sent her for two ct scans......and now to a surgeon. What you said makes a lot of sense. The pain is right at her left kidney, the ct report and ultrasound report both said upper abdominal gas, but unremarkable kidneys. Is it possible to have a stone stuck for four months? Since you are an expert on stones, maybe you can answer some questions. Is the pain constant? Is it in the front or back? Does it get worse when you eat? Since you've been through this you understand the pain she is in, imagine four months of it and dealing with school. It kills me. Thanks again! Hugs Linda
