I never had an epidural, but I did have the morphine pump and was instantly vomiting from it....I just can't tolerate morphine. They changed it to another pain med and I was fine. The epidural sounds wonderful though! I'd do that in a minute! Theresa

I've had both epidurals and morphine pump for different surgeries. I found I cannot tolerate the morphine pump at all, severe nausea and vomitting. I had the epidural with the GB and felt no pain at all. The anesthesiologist who inserted it did a fantastic job. I did have some itching, and it did seem to bring on some sleep apnea which scared the heck out of my husband and the nurse on duty. Apparently they had a great deal of trouble waking me up!! After that they removed the epidural and I was on Lortab. I still liked the epidural, as I was able to get up and walk very soon after surgery with little pain. Debra M.
