Anyone else with MS had problems with surgeon?
Hi....I am new here. I am also very very frustrated. I have Multiple Sclerosis and you would like I have the plague. I am talking to another surgeon right now and it is sounding more hopeful. I don't want to get my hope up again. Anyone got ay suggestions. I have high cholesterol & triglycerides. I am already on several medications trying to lower the levels. My blood sugar is starting to creep up. I havre a family history of heart diease, high cholesterol & triglycerides, as well as diabetes. My PCP says I should be an excellent canidate for surgery, but you would never kniow it after the last few weeks.
Funny you should say your not sure you even told the surgeon. Be cause of this problem and others I have had along the way because of my MS; I told the nurse at my nuerologists office at the U of M I am going to start denying that I have it. She told me I couldn't do that. I asked why not......I went for years before anyone knew I had. They all thought I was just a hypochondriac....lol
I have MS too. My PCP gave me a little grief about having this surgery and he wouldn't write a letter of support until my neurologist gave his okay. The neuro was only too happy to comply; he didn't think it would be detrimental to my MS at all, and it hasn't been. I've had absolutely no problems with my MS since my surgery, I'm happy to say. My surgeon wasn't concerned about it at all, either. Good luck, I hope things work out for you.

I am well on my way to working with another surgeon today :-) thanks to a wonderful Psychologist that works out of the same office as my PCP. He heard my story and said it was pretty sad what I was having to go through. His wife has had the surgery. He called me and talked to me. He gave me the number of the surgeon. I made several phone calls today. It looks like things maybe turnng around. Thank you all for the wonder responses here and emails of encouragment!.......Hugs Lori
