Great idea Stacey!! I also enjoyed reading everyone's story. I am a mom to 2 girls 21 and 19. A step mom to 4, ages 20, 28, 29 and 32. I am also a grandmom to 6 beautiful grandchildren ages 7 months, 2 yrs, 2-5 yr olds, 7 yr old and 13 yr old. I spent 24 years working for Kimberly Clark Corp. in Neenah WI. I then got married to a very wonderful man in Dec. of 2002 and moved to MI in April of 2003. We then relocated to Texas in October of 2005 (he had to be down here in Aug of 05, I had to stay behind and sell the house and pack it up). Aug 1st of this year I got a job working with Spieth Anderson SA Sports in Fort Worth as an administrative assistant. We sell gymnastic equipment and I really love my job. I type up the daily log, send orders for inputting and invoicing, filing, answering phones, printing up packing slips, bill of lading, and labels etc, etc, etc. I really love this job and it sure made a great deal of difference in my life. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!

As others have said.. "What a great idea Stacry!" Thanks for this post. And to all who have shared, thanks, as it has been great to get to know you all a little bit better via these posts. Well now about me. I am a bean counter, aka: accountant. Have been doing it for well over 30 years and enjoy it. How's that for a kid who hated math? I have counted beans for factories, charter schools, auto parts manufacturers, doctors, lawyers and insurance companies. The past 10 years I have specialized in 1099 reporting and actually am one of the few people who like the IRS and speak to them frequently about tax issues. Also I am a mom but my kids are grown and the nest is empty so that has definitely become a part-time, almost non-existant, job recently. I look forward to being a grandma, but not yet . Patt

Hey Stacey, I am a mother to 5 children. I am raising my husbands 3 children from his first marriage and I had a daughter before I met my husband and we have 1 child together. 1 of my step children has Muscular Dystrophy and needs full care but she goes to school all day and is a Junior in high school this year. My step son is also physically and mentally severly multiply impaired and takes a lot of care as well. I stay busy with sports with my children. My children are 18, 16, 15, 13, 11. If this wasn't enough I volunteer as the manager of our church food pantry. Which averages out to be about 20 hours a week. I love working with people and serving others as the Lord asks us to. I truly love what I do. Hugs, Di

First of all, I am a wife to my husband of 11 years (11 days away!!) and Mamma to Jacob who we adopted from Russia and brought home April 2005. In addition to that I am a Production Engineer for a company that makes ventilation systems for restuarants. A few months ago I was an engineer at a boat company but the miles between work and home was getting to me as it was 45 miles one way. Now my job is only 18 miles and I get home earlier!! Michelle

This is a great post Stacy, it is nice to find out what everyone does when they are not posting here. As for me, I am a paralegal, I have been for over 14 years now, but I am also Mom to 4 kids. I am not working at this moment and since my youngest is a senior this year, I decided to go back to college myself and get my associates degree in paralegal studies something I was not able to do when my kids were younger.

Hey Stacey! I'll pipe in..... I went from juvenile corrections to publishing, however after my daughter was born 10 years ago - I left the career world and became a stay-at-home mom to 4 kids (currently 21, 19, 17 and 10). Right now, besides being a mom and wife - I'm the assistant to our asst. pastor, I help run (ok, I do all but teach there) the institute our church has for leadership development, christian counseling and biblical studies and I work in the children's ministry and serve on a marriage leadership team. This fall we (DH and I) will be hosting small groups in our home to mentor other married couples. I also am a foster mom - we currently have 3 fosters and awaiting another 3 that are currently being pulled. (That gives me 6 kids in the house - soon to be 9!!!) We are both short term and long term care, emergency placement and a licensed group home. Most of the kids we get are the more difficult to manage - but it's a joy to see them turn things around and blossom! Lastly, we work with the birth placements as coaches and mentors. Hi, I used to be a reporter at The Detroit News until the strike. Since then I've been a Realtor with Century 21. My office is in Livonia, and I just moved to Waterford, but I do all of Wayne and Oakland counties, plus sometimes others. Of course, it's been quite slow recently. If you're in the market to buy or sell, let me know!
