OT: Your Profession

Hi, I guess you all know me pretty well. I'd like to know something about YOU!!! You know I work for PBS in Engineering....and I've been a professional radio DJ for 27 years just last month. I also have worked at every TV station in West Michigan except channel 13, including WWMT, WXMI, WXSP, WOOD, and radio stations including B-93, WLAV, WYVN in Holland, WHTC in Holland and WATZ AM-FM in Alpena. Plus I've owned my own Mobile DJ business and retired from all the radio stuff to come work here in Central Michigan. I basically work in the Engineering Department and manage and maintain 10 tv stations, their transmitters, programming and the day to day operations of our broadcasts. I call it easy money, but when a station goes down, I better know what I'm doing. I am SBE certified (Society of Broadcast Engineers), I have an Associate Degree in Business and Business Administration and fell in love with a DJ down in Kentucky in 1983 and began my journey in radio. What I would like to know about YOU is this: (if you are willing to tell) What is your profession? And this includes being a Mom, a Dad, a housewife, whatever it is that is your daily profession.....please take a few moments and describe what you do. I think it would be interesting to see what everyone here does, and if you are willing to share, please know I thank you very much for doing so!!!

Hi Stacey, well... I drive a School Bus for a living. And today was the first day back for the kids. It is kinda mixed emotions, glad to see them since the summer but also sad that summer is over and winter road conditions are slowly approaching. The good news is I got a brand new 2006 bus this year and that sucker is FAST! (don't think my boss would like to know that) Anyways, thats what I do!!! Kathy

My daily profession is being a Mom but my husband & I own a mobile DJ / Karaoke business and that is what I love! I really enjoy being around people and the interaction & fun I have with that. Hi Stacey Right now i am working in fast food part time, at least until we get everything figured out with my daughters health. Before this i was an asst manager at speedway, and loved it, i so miss my customers! I am hoping to get into school next year and be a nurse, that has always been my dream. Hugs Linda

I'm an administrative assistant for public works for the City of Big Rapids. We deal with water, sewer, parks, potholes, snow removal, leaf removal (grrr, that's coming up), motor pool and anything nobody else wants to handle. I'm a mom to 3 1/2 dachshunds (the other 1/2 is beagle) and my husband and I have been married 36 years.
