5 for the 5th
Well, the kids are back in school and I've got TIME on my hands. So here's five for ya today.
1.) What do you do to celebrate back to school?
2.) Sunday is the 5th anniversary of 9-11, does your local community have anything special they are doing? Are you?
3.) Do you enjoy the fall colors? or do you detest all the raking of leaves?
4.) If you could buy yourself a "back to school" outfit, what would it be?
5.) You're home, the house is empty, the chores are all done, you have 7 hours of total "you time" what do you do???
1.) What do you do to celebrate back to school?
* Well, after dropping a ton of money on back to school stuff (ugh) we had a great back to school morning with breakfast and everyone scurrying around to get ready. I'm driving the kids this week, next week they start riding the bus (which comes at 6:45AM) The kids got in the van in their new school clothes - all excited about their first day in their new school. I dropped off the middle school (I have 3 there) and then the high schooler, and then took John to the elementary. We went through the school locating all the MAJOR rooms (like the cafateria)
and then I took him to his classroom. He met his teacher and some of the other boys in his class took him outside to play until the bell rang. I'll have a special snack made for the kids when they get home and we'll talk about their first day.
2.) Sunday is the 5th anniversary of 9-11, does your local community have anything special they are doing? Are you?
* I don't know much of anything local, since we're new here. But the kids and I will do something to remember, not sure what yet though.
3.) Do you enjoy the fall colors? or do you detest all the raking of leaves?
* BOTH - I love the fall season, I love the colors, I love the cool days, I love it all... but raking leaves distrubs my allergies WAY too much!!! No more hay rides or the like for me. I get to just hold the camera and take pictures.
4.) If you could buy yourself a "back to school" outfit, what would it be?
* I would buy myself a pair of jeans (assuming I could find some in my size - it's quite a difficult task now), a WARM sweater, a pair of brown leather ankle boots, a jean jacket (one size too big to allow for my sweaters), a pair of ear muffs, and a pair of gloves.... the perfect fall outfit for me (especialy with football going on)
5.) You're home, the house is empty, the chores are all done, you have 7 hours of total "you time" what do you do???
*
I don't know, that's why I'm asking. I've already cleaned the house, did most of the laundry, eatten breakfast, read my Bible.... now I'm sipping hot chocolate with protein added and playing on the computer.... but it's only 8:45 AM ----- this is going to be a long boring day for this mamma with no kids home.

1.) What do you do to celebrate back to school?
Uh....living in a college town, I get out!!!!!!!! Usually drive to Midland or Saginaw or Grand Rapids and shop OR go out to the FARM and ride horseys!!!
2.) Sunday is the 5th anniversary of 9-11, does your local community have anything special they are doing? Are you? I am not sure but I would imagine the VFW will do something in town. I always post a memorial on my website or profile that is moving as a reminder of those lost.
3.) Do you enjoy the fall colors? or do you detest all the raking of leaves?
Fall is special in that it is the most beautiful season we have here. I also enjoy the smells of fall......and noticing how the Maple trees seem to be the most vibrant in color.
4.) If you could buy yourself a "back to school" outfit, what would it be?
I need new jeans but hesitate because am waiting on my tummy tuck surgery. When the time is right I plan to buy several new outfits that are becoming of my flat tummy!!!
5.) You're home, the house is empty, the chores are all done, you have 7 hours of total "you time" what do you do??? RIDE HORSES AND PLAY WITH THE HORSES AND LOVE THE HORSES!!!!
I just knew you'd be here to post this morning.
Careful with the jean dream though. I thought that too, but now it's a nightmare!!!!! After the TT I do have a nice flat tummy but I still can't find jeans that fight RIGHT!!!
Problem?? Well, I'm a size 4 and that's the smallest size in the misses dept (say at JCPennys) but actually I'm a size 4 in the THIGHS and a size smaller in the waste.... so in order for me to be able to wear them I have to buy the 4's and have the waste too big all the time. I know, everyone says "buy a belt" but somehow it just defeats the purpose of losing weight and getting the TT. So, I try the Juniors department - What a JOKE!!!! Those jeans are ment for ppl with STICK LEGS ONLY!!! They're smaller in the thighs then in the misses dept.
Perhaps I'm just shopping in the wrong stores? I don't know, but I've yet to find a pair of jean that fit and fit well.

Hey girl long time no see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We need to seriously get together and do something!!! I'll meet you halfway!!!
Yep, I almost plotted out a 5 for today but I got tied up at work and didn't have a chance to think of some. So good deal that YOU did!!!!!
Speaking of 9/11, I put a unique tribute website on my profile that is highly moving, and not for the faint of heart to say the least, I watched it this morning and cried my eyes out. It is really ....hard to watch. Kleenex are a MUST!!!
Hope this finds you amazingly well and let's go shopping sometime!!! I betcha we both have that jeans problem...I'm only 5'1" and they dont make jeans for teeny people with NO legs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! rotf!!!
Good to see you!!!

1.) What do you do to celebrate back to school?
I'm thinking of calling Laurie to hang out. My bigger kids have been back over a week and Jack doesn't go back till the 11th so ask me at 12:41pm on the 11th.
2.) Sunday is the 5th anniversary of 9-11, does your local community have anything special they are doing? Are you? No idea what Midland does. Not sure what we'll do. Having grown up in NYC 9/11 is really a hard day for us as we lost a few friends in the WTC.
3.) Do you enjoy the fall colors? or do you detest all the raking of leaves? LOVE fall colors, fall smells... HATE leaves. No really HATE is not even a strong enough word.
4.) If you could buy yourself a "back to school" outfit, what would it be? Do you really want ME of all people to answer this!?!??!
5.) You're home, the house is empty, the chores are all done, you have 7 hours of total "you time" what do you do??? Go pick up Laurie and SHOP, or grab a coffee with Laurie.
Hugs Girlfriend!!!!
This is truely horrible - it's day ONE and I'm going NUTSO!!! I've got the house clean, the laundry done, finished reading the book I had...and it's only 10:20am!!!
Definately need an Erin fix!!!!! What are your work hours now???? Can we work in a Wednesday?? I still go to Saginaw on Wednesday when I can.
Give me a call, I can't get your number off my old cell phone!!!

1) I hop back in bed on the 1st day of school after I get the kids off and just enjoy the quiet!
2) There are a lot of different things going on in our community for the memorial. Going to be hard to decide which to do.
3) I love the fall the best because of all the different colors. Our house is only a few years old so our trees aren't very mature yet so there is not a lot of raking to do.
4) I bought a new tuxedo this year (for our DJ business) but I bought it the same time that we were out with the kids to get their new school clothes.
5) I am listing a bunch of stuff on ebay today. It is so much nicer to do when the house is quiet.
1: Well my girls are grown now, the baby is in college going on her fourth year. But I love it when school starts because that means fall and football games!!
2: There is ALOT of pain and scaring from 9/11. People still need to heal. Our community does not do anything for 9/11. As for my family, we will remember those left here with empty hearts and wish them all the comfort we can!
3: I LOVE fall colors! It is the most beautiful time of the year! Fall colors, caramel apples, cider, hay fields and FOOTBALL!!!
4: Turtleneck, Sweater, Jeans, Socks, New Undies, Earrings and a cool pair of Jean Boots! Yikes!!! Now I wanna go shopping!!!
5: Take a much needed nap, read a good book and order pizza for dinner because the house will be buzzing with ALL the "First Day at School" memories and happenings!! BOY I MISS THAT!!!
