I don't know of any Carol, but just wanted you to know that there was not one here in Prudenville either when I first had my surgery, so I started one myself. We meet in a community building (free to non-profit groups) once a month. I know of other groups that started that meet in a restaurant or at someone's house. The main thing is just to get together to share and support each other. I had the local paper put it in there "Community Calendar" section and with word of mouth, it has grown. I also told the Dr.'s office where I go to pass the word since we WLS patients all have to go to dr. appts. for bloodwork, etc. We have a total of about 30 members now, although there are usually about 10 people in attendance each meeting. We just discuss our month, good and bad, and support each other!
Anyway, just wanted you to know if you don't find one, it's possible to get one going! If I can do it, anyone can!! Best of luck to you!

There used to be a group that met at the Days Inn in Alpena.
I tried to start a group in Posen, but not enough interested persons. Just 2 of us came. To bad it didn't take off!
Grand Traverse Surgery does their meetings by satellite through Alpena General Hospital. Usually the last MOnday of the month, although sometimes the days change. The person to talk to about that would be Kathy Mcveety at the hospital. I go to those sometimes.
