Pre-Trip WOW Moment!

I will be going to a family reunion on Sunday, just south of Cincinnati. This is a side of the family I have never seen, save a second half cousin once removed (and her parents) at another family reunion last year (pre-op). Well, I'm starting to pack and thinking of being practical, I want to pack some jeans. NONE OF MY JEANS FIT !!! That's because the last pair I bought (earlier this year) were size 14!! Well, I go to the Salvation Army and I pick out a pair of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans and I thought I would do the happy because I was able to get into a pair of SIZE 8 JEANS!!! I was for joy and I might have someone because I was so happy and I wanted to to the Lord and the WLS gods!! I have not said a word to anyone about my surgery, so I will surprise at least three people!!

I can't wait to be in a size (anything under 14) (smile) Good for you!! I bet you look great!! Rachel

Hi Laurie, My surgeon is Dr. Wood from the Cori Center. The surgery is at Harper in Detroit. I'm so excited, not scared at all. I'm not scared because I'm going lap and not open. I was pondering the idea of going open at one point and I was starting to get real anxious and nervous, almost feeling like I'd probably back out. Once I made my decision to go lap, I've been nothing but excited!!

Glad to see you're back Yeah, I was surprised too. I have learned that just because you can wear something in one size doesn't mean you can wear ALL items in that size. I also tried on a size 9-10 Jordash jeans, I couldn't get them past my knees!! A few weeks ago I bought a pair of black dress pants in a size 8. I could wear them, but you could see that they gaped a bit at the pockets. A few pounds later, they were fine!! 235.5/143/130?
