Read lots of profiles. Start walking and drinking water. Take in protein and get rid of carbs. Sample protein powders. Watch out for the haters. kp

Where are you having surgery? Do you have a nutritionist? What types of diet suggestions are you getting from your surgeon? Don't buy too many protein powders before surgery. Many people find that their tastes change after surgery and the powders they once liked, they no longer can tolerate...for a variety of reasons. You can buy samples from many sites. That way you can try them before and after, before you commit to a "tub" of powder, just find out you can't stomach it. For sure, there are many things to learn on this journey. Like KP said, read many profiles and don't be afraid to ask questions. I'm sure you'll get lots of answers....some you can use and some you can't. Most of us have been there! Glad you are here! Good luck! Tina

Jacki, I was surprised to hear that you don't have a comprehensive plan from your surgeon and/or nutritionist. If you don't, then you should look around here and see what others have gotten from their docs and see that it is a pretty detailed process and you need to be as informed as possible. I just drove past Parma on my way to Battle Creek this weekend! Best of luck to you, Brenda
