Appealing Process

I am just preparing myself for another denial.....and I want to try to get ready for an appeal with the State Medical Board.....does anyone have any info on who what where when and why!!! Who do I write to, What do I say, Where do I send it, When do I send it, and I guess we all know why!! I was the the doctors today and he mentioned if "we" got denied again...( His is so supportive of this) That he would take this all the way to the Medical board. Both of our letters have been sent..and I got my registered reciept back saying they go it. Thanks...

I went thru the appeal process, and should send you the address in Lansing for the review. If they don't, send me an email and I will give you the address. In your appeal, get to the point! Explain what you have done, what was said. Provide documentation - include the letters of denial, labs, etc. I personally gave them THREE options (how does one FAIL a psych exam??). One was to overturn it, second was to have another psych exam (with stipulations) or the third was to have some counseling sessions and then another psych exam (also with stipulations). Go ahead and read my profile. It took about six weeks from the time I submitted it to the time I was approved. I did not wait for my insurance company to say the decision had been reversed - I started making my appointment for the 4 hour consult the following day (perhaps Monday). I hope that you aren't denied and you won't have to go thru this!
