Gosh..........I don't know where to begin. (although it is now 12:08am Saturday morning and I am dead tired but just wanted to do this) For those who just want the pics: http://www.flickr.com/photos/75764372@N00/sets/ Frankenmuth was a nice place however Phyllis and Melissa were a riot, blast, fun, great to be with and "Melissa and I had to be seperated only 1 time not 2 like she said" for misbehavin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We all met in Frankenmuth and shared a few stories...which was so nice. It's amazing what you can share with WLS Ladies!!!! We trotted into town and got on our journey right away by boarding a lovely white carriage with red velvet seats and a horse, ironicly called "SLIM". Melissa said it was funny that we all had WLS and get a horse named "SLIM". That was cool. The tour we took was not only great and relaxing, but Phyllis said it was "educational" as well!!! The homes are amazing and the history is great also!!!!!!!!! We did learn that if you pick Edelweiss in Germany, you will be prosecuted for it, and after our days events, (night time) we stopped by a local florist who was closed - but they had Edelweiss plants for sale for 4.00!!! Had they been open, I would have bought one since my name is in there somewhere!!!!!!!!!!! After the ride through town we shopped and I think we all can safely say that we walked at least 10 miles..................and ate at Bavarian Inn, where I endured some traumatic weird experience that caused me to feel bizarre (Melissa, hush!) and I can't quite put my finger on what happened.............I think it might have been the nuts I ate, or perhaps the ventilation in the place we ate, but it didn't last long and I felt better. Shortly after we ate, we tended to much more walking and shopping and smelling the goodies. One thing we did was venture into River Place where shops are plenty. As you can see by the photos, we found a store (several actually) that had pleasant hats, sunglasses and fun things to make anyone's day brighter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT a HOOT this was!!!!!!!!! We had dinner at Tiffany's where Phyllis and I split the grilled walleye and Mellisa enjoyed a yummy bowl of French Onion Soup. After dinner we proceeded to walk and shop and our day soon ended when it became true that we were all BEAT!!!!!!!! After parting our ways, Melissa went her way and I went mine after leaving Phyllis safely at home...........and I am still up doing this because I plan to sleep all day Saturday.........(ok, not ALL day!) Nonetheless, it was a happy time and honest I thought myself I had known both Phyllis and Melissa for decades the way we all acted and had so much fun. Good times were definately had here and you should consider doing this sometime with other great WLS peoples ..................however we have ONE WORD of caution we would like to share: *******several locations (shops) sell room deoderizers and fart snuffers, whoopee cushions and other great oddities. One in particular we found, and instantly thought of KP is this: **in one store they sold "hillbilly" items...........The Hillibillies answer to a bubble bath? a bag of pinto beans. (((get it- beans equals gas which equals bubbles?))) At several occasions we found ourselves laughing so loud and having such an amazing time that you forgot the rest of the world.....truly, it was superb and I speak from my heart when I tell you how wonderful these two women are who shared the day with me and made it as fun as it was!!!!!!!!!!!! I applaud you Phyllis and Melissa for bringing so much fun into my world!!!!!!!!!! Ps ::note to the girls-----I called Joe when I got on I-75 and didn't get off the phone with him until I got into Midland. He must have really missed me!!!!!!!! (you know, Joe, the trucker guy you heard his message???????) ya, that one. tee hee hee

I did so enjoy the glasses and hats time we spent in that shop..........wow that was so funny to see people looking at us and laughing when we were walking outside with the glasses on!!!!!!!!!!!! how cool? Thanks Phyllis for your contribution to my trip and for making me feel like we've known each other for many years. (Melissa too although sometimes the "teacher" did come out in her!!!) hahahahahaha I can't wait to come back and have more fun!!! What a cool place to live. And next time, I'm buying some Edelweiss!!!!!!!!!!!! (if they are open!) Hugs to you and thanks again for a groovy time.....again, too bad we didn't buy any fart products for KP!!!!!!!!!!!! rotf!!! OK, so maybe we were just threatened more than once to behave or be seperated. It was the most fun I've had all summer, and as Stacey said (yes, I'm going to agree with you on something!) I HIGHLY recommend planning a day with any of the WLS pals who live near you. Just post it here and if we can, we'll join you. Actually, if any of you are into old cars, I'll be in Frankenmuth for the Autofest on Sept. 9 & 10. We can hang out if you're available. Thanks Phyllis & Stacey for a great time and funny photos. (Just so long as my students don't find them... )

I see a few have posted about doing this on the weekend. Just an FYI, there is a craft show on September 16/17 in the grassy area next to Zehnders/across from the Bavarian. Might be a thought for accomodating those of us who work during the week?? Michelle

I won't be able to go anywhere that weekend as on the 20th I'm flying to Little Rock, AR for a seminar/conference for our Union, and that weekend I need to do laundry and pack and I work Sundays.....right now I work Sun-Thurs. Have fun if you do go!!!!!!!! And go to River Place and find the store with the fun hats and glasses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SW
