Which type did you have?
I had the lap RNY and have been very happy with it. I'm thinking though, if I had it to do over again, I may opt to go with the micropouch....less chance of stretching. But all in all, very happy with the outcome! 125 lbs off originally....still have 105 off. I definately am glad I had the procedure done laproscopically....less invasive and the recovery was easy. No hernias or other complications. Theresa
i had laprascopic Roux En Y, had a very quick recovery and no complications. I'm confused about the micropouch, the need for open surgery and the revision rates i've heard people mention (heresay only, not reliable info) that go along with it. I'd like to see unbiased comparisons between the two at five and ten years out before i'd regret not having the micropouch but it does sound promising from what i've heard and seen.
I had Ruin What the Hell? (RNY). My boy, Oregon Jeff, had VSG with Pleatman. I had never seen anyone who had VSG before and I think Pleatman is the only one around doing it?
I was full open and had a variation called a near total by-pass or micro pouch.
No regrets. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Hi Shawna
I had the duodenal switch with Dr. Kemmeter at S ectrum Blodgett in Grand Ra ids. A key is not working on my com uter, and I bet you can guess which one it is!
I am only 16 days out, but am quite satisfied with the results thus far. There is an active DS board on this site, with many Michigan folks. Let me know if I can answer any further questions for you!
