OT-Taylor and I shared a moment!
Oh yes, It's true. The lights dimmed....the music started... and from behind I heard the raspy "Bob Segar-like" voice singing to me.. I turned to see Taylor Hicks...moving towards me...moving swiftly as if he couldn't get to me (past me) fast enough... we locked eyes for a moment and I reached out to him..touching his arm... and then it was over as fast as it had begun.. I know he thought it was special too...
Okay... it really wasn't that dramatic... or that special... but it was FUN!!!!! Mandisa was sick, so she didn't perform, but all the other contestants were really good. Katherine only sang 2 songs because her voice is still recovering.. Chris was Awesome!!!! Ace was Awesome AND Beautiful!!! Elliot was great (but still could use an overhall on that grill of his)..but they all seem so genuine! Paris was the best on stage as far as playing to the audience.. can't believe she is still a teenager!!! All in all it was a good concert. I was hoping they would have done more stuff together as a group, but they just came out one by one and each sang a couple songs... sometimes a duet. (Kelly and Bucky sang "You're the one that I want" from Grease).. The best part for me was when Ace, Chris, Elliot and Bucky sang an AWESOME rendition of Guns-N-Roses "Patience". Taylor was...well, Taylor. I've like him since I first saw him on the Try-Outs.. so full of energy and an amazing voice. It was really really fun.
It was cute, they had a big screen up on stage, and during the break and before the concert you could text message a message to the screen.. There were some pretty funny ones. I don't know how many women text that they would leave their husband's for Ace! LOL Bucky even threw his sweaty cowboy hat into the audiance (Ewwwwwww!)
Detroit definately gave them a INCREDIBLE welcome.. they kept saying we were the loudest and best crowd they've had yet... (but maybe they say that every time).. but we were very very VERY loud.. they did look shocked. (Except maybe Bucky..cuz most everyone sat down when he came out..poor kid!)
So that's the story. Fun was had by all.. and Taylor's blazer felt very silky..
