Hi J First of all, you cannot take a pill or capsule right away post op. I wasn't allowed to do that until i was at least six months out. Where did you learn of needing all these vitamins? Have you discussed it with your surgeon or nutritionist? What is coromega? Make sure if you are female you get iron in your multi vitamins and remember you need calcium citrate too. as for the b vitamins and vitamin d, shouldn't that be in your multis too? chelated vitamins are best for bypass pts, and i know country life has a very good chewable that contains everything you need. Check it out with your doc and see for sure. Hugs Linda

I agree with the Country Life Adult Chewable. When you can take capsules, you might consider Biotin, 5000mg. I foun them at Walmart under the Rexall name.

Thanks for the replies, The nutritionist recommended taking these 1- Vitamin B-100 by Nature's Way - capsule This one taste SO awful, I took the capsule and opened it, mixed the stuff inside with a shake and drank it. It doesn't taste good 2- Isupure low carb dutch chotolate - 50g protine - powder I thought I would use this for a daily shake to get a good amount of protine 3- Flintsones complete multi vitamin - chewables this is the multi vitamin, I am supposed to take 2 a day 4- Vitamin D Dry - 400 IU - capsule My vitamin D is already low, so I was asked to take 3 of the 400 IU, a total of 1200 IU a day. 5- 100% Whey Protine by EAS - 23g protine I thought to use this and add a scoop here or there to get more protine 6- Coromega Orange Flavor This is 3 omega, flavored and comes in small little packets, feels like a jell. I was told to take one a day.

Hey J! Every Dr. has their own program, and hopefully you will be working closely with a nutritionist, too...they are so awesome! When it comes to your protein drinks, you might want to purchase a small quantity first...you won't believe how much your tastes change after surgery. Something you love now just may not cut it after surgery. Vitmin-wise, everyone's right, you need chewables at first...if your Dr. wants you to crush & mix, cool, that's up to them, you follow their program and it will work. For my multi-vite, I use a product I get from walgreens.com called "Resource" Optisource chewable vitamin & mineral supplement. They're orange flavored, you take 4 per day...they're $24.99 online, free s&h...I order them at the end of each month and they're here in just a few days...they're made expecially for bariatric patients. I've also had to add calium CITRATE (we don't absorb regular calcium well), biotin, and some extra iron for me...we're all different . Just some ideas for you, always check with your Dr. &/or nutritionist...they're the professionals! Good luck Lizzie B
