Traveling on Airplane + Protein

I have a question: I will be going to Little Rock, AK in September for a conference. I normally drink 1 20 ounce bottle of Nature's Best Isopure Protein (40 gms/20 ounces) It is in a glass bottle. I do not care for the chocolate/strawberry/vanilla protein drinks that are made with milk, and I don't lilke things that are too sweet. Does anyone have any ideas on what might be out there that I can take with me on the plane and not break glass or mix it with milk? thanks very much!

Could you pour your Isopure into an empty water bottle?? Or would it not be cold enough? Just a thought. Teri

Thing is, I need 4 bottles with me. One per day. I am not worried about the temperature of the protein, I can drink this stuff at room temp anytime. DO you think that plastic would hold up in a suitcase without leaking on my clothes? should I bag them into a plastic freezer bag? I was thinking about that...just wanted ideas. Thanks!

Just remember, due to the recent terror threat, any "liquid" you take on the plane, be it medication or something to drink, they will make you take a drink of it before you can get through security.. so if you take 4 bottles, you will have to taste test all 4 bottles before getting through security. I know that even 'water" they are not allowing right now according to reports.. the only liquids are those a person cannot get through the flight without ..such as medication.. This was the last I heard as of yesterday, so you may want to check with the airline to see what the restrictions are. Blessings, Kim

I was planning to put the bottles in my luggage at check in not carry on. I rarely carry on anything but my laptop and small satchel bag.

This past May, I took 20 bottles of water (City of Big Rapids birthday special) with me in my suitcase to Las Vegas. I know that the TSA opened it and checked it out but it passed their inspection. They probably thought I was a dingbat bringing water with me to Vegas but I was giving it as a party favor.

Stacey, When we flew to Russia (twice) to adopt our son we had to take all sorts of strange items...so the inspectors are used to seeing strange things. They may question you on the Isopure but explain to them why you have it and they should be fine. What airport are you fly from (we flew out of MBS both times). I would wrap each bottle lightly in bubble wrap (do not tape so they can open the bubble wrap up and see the bottles) and then put two in a large ziploc bag and then into a second bag doing the same with the other two bottles. That way you would be safe from any breakage and leaks. Also, it would help to put your clothes (or a towel) around them as the baggage handlers don't really care if you have anything breakable or not. Coming home was a different story all in it's own, but being on foreign soil would explain that (with all the stuff that had been going on in Checnya which raised their security status just days before we were to come home). How about just buying some when you get to Little Rock? That way you don't have to worry about packing it and possibly breaking it. Just a thought. Little Rock is a big city. You should be able to find it there.

I use the Isopure powders and mix them with bottled water. on trips in the past i've carried them in baggies and even though i was worried it would be mistaken for drugs there were no problems. I don't like the pre-made Isopure drinks but if you really prefer them i am sure they sell them in Little Rock so you can just purchase them there.

WOW....thanks so much for all the ideas!!!!!!!!!!! My concern is: when I arrive in Little Rock, I am on a conference schedule and not sure how much time I'll have to find a ride over to a GNC (where Isopure is sold) to get it. I'm going to look into that idea rather than packing the bottles. It will weigh down my luggage and also I just would rather purchase it there OR find a substitute for the 4 days I'm there. Again, Many sincere thanks for all the wonderful ideas!!!!!!!!!!!! You are the BEST!!!!!!!!! SW
