Psychiatrist Question

Hi, before surgery I was told that I should start seeing a psychiatrist after surgery. Does anyone know how I would go about finding someone who deals with weight issues. The recommendations from my surg. are not covered under my insurance. thanks Julie

Only one person I would recommend Dr Daniel Stettner he gets high marks in my book, I saw him when I started my weight loss program and still see him a few times a month. he is the greatest!!! Not only is he wonderful to talk to but very well versed in the WLS procedures and all the before and after issues you might need to talk about. You can find him through the Unisource Weight Loss program through Beaumont Hospital. Check with your insurance provider, all of my visits are covered under my mental health coverages. Just make sure you are saying you are going for "mental health issues" not weight loss!! It does make a difference. Jill

Julie, I used Steven Baum, he 's in Birmingham. Not sure if or what insurance he takes, I paid up front then submitted the bill. Good luck Robin
