After getting so many reponses and emails about my helath issues, I will post them for you, perhaps, someone can refer me to someone that can help. I live with chronic pain ( never had this before WLS) on the hospital scale of 1-10 I would rate most days as 8.5, I mean pain to the point where all I can do is cry, because nothing helps ease the pain. It mainly strikes the area from my mid back to mid thigh. My hips are the worst, they are constantly bruised, somedays worse than others, with NO REASON none to cause the brusing, and it is only in this area that I bruise. My hip sockets literally feel as though my thigh bones are rubbing directly onto the pelvic bone, and some days, as crazy as this may sound, I swear I can hear them grinding. I have been to the chiroprator.........no help, had all sort of dye me up & stick me into tubes test, x-rays, tried about 15 different types of medication (at $40 per pop for a copay) and NOTHING, the pain still persist. Since, my doctors cant figure it out, basically I get the its all in my head response (yes I have actually been told that). But the brusing is being caused by something, it hurts me to sit for any longer than 15-30 minutes, it hurts me to stand that long, and if I lay down that seems to help somewhat, but I have a 9 month old baby and an 11 year old daughter, so laying in bed all day is not a good option for me. To top all of that I have so much stress in my life, I think that makes it worse. I raelly dont know what else my options are, exercise, KILLS me, the pain it brings feel like the wrath of god being brought onto me, even walking. So here I sit in my house most days, sad, lonely, depressed, no strength, and embarrassed that I had gastric bypass surgery, and gained 40 pounds of weight (with my pregnancy, but not being able to move doesnt get it back off). All I pray for is some pain relief, and some doctor to step up and say ya know what WE WILL find out what is wrong with you, and try to fix you! Thanks for thinking about me, and thanks for letting me share.

Sandy- Have you ever given some thought to making an appointment at the Mayo Clinic? I know several people who have run into a dead end, as you have, and decided to go out there to try to find answers for some health problem. You're much too young to be going through this without someone coming up with an answer for you. I hope that you are able to get some kind of relief soon. Barb

Sorry you are having such a bad time, Sandy! That post about Mayo Clinic sounds good. I've heard they check you inside and out. You probably won't come home without an answer. By the way, your baby is beautiful. Dora H

That's unreal!!!!!!! This is probably going to sound real dumb but,,,, Before I lost weight I had this weird pain in the front of my legs. It started in my belly and went down my legs. It was excruciating. To stand for an entire class would just about have me in tears. The kicker - it was circulatory related. Not enough blood flow and low oxygen to my muscles would cause this crazy pain. Because of my weight I was pressing against arteries and veins and it was blood flow. Could you have done dome damage to an artery that is feeding nerves or muscles? Could you have a clot? It's a long shot but when you described your pain it hit me right in the face. I hope you get some relief soon. kp

hi sandy sorry to hear that you are having problems. my hubby has heart problems and the doctors here said there is nothing we can do for and i said well ya just cant let him die there is something that can be done to help but locally there was nothing they could do for him here so i got online and checked out beaumont hospitals website and they have a good cardiac program there. i am saying your problems isnt heart related but if they cant find out what is wrong with you here try and get on beaumonts website and they should have a 1 800 number for you to call or i think on their website they have a physician finder.they have helped my hubby out alot when the doctors here said there is nothing we can do for and 1 doctor said not even the mayo clinic could help but i think if the doctors had more time to research things they would be able to help more people.beaumont even has a bariatric program also and there doctors might be able to help you.if that dont work out try university of michigan ann arbor hospital or try henry ford hospital. dont give up every thing will be okay, also have tried talking to doctor minisian in grand blanc? he is my pcp and is a good dr also and know alot about wls patients. hope this helps ya.

My daughter (age 20) has had major back problems for several years. She has tried everything and has seen many doctors who told her there is nothing they can do and she just had to learn to live with it. Chronic pain caused her to be terribly depressed and suicidal. Her PCP sent her to a physiotherapist (not a physical therapist) and that is the only thing that has ever helped. She was also given a TENS unit that she uses for 3 hours a day. She is not pain-free but is finally able to live a more normal life. You also may need to go to a pain clinic to see a pain specialist for help. I wish you well.

Sandy, I am so sad that you are not feeling well! Have they tested you for Lyme Disease? Also have they tested you for Fibro Maligia(sp?)? Mayo Clinic sounds like a good shot! I know it is far away and you have alot of responsibility at home but you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of anyone else! I hope you find a solution fast. How is your B-12 level?? And your white blood count? Take Care!!!

how do you test for fibromyalgia? i was told i had it a number of times and it turned out to be complete and utter b.s. it's what's known as a "garbage diagnosis". in other words if they can't find anything else to be the cause they may label you as having fibro. many doctors don't even believe in it.

Hi Sandy, We see this everyday in our office. At least it sound like it. I wish you where a little closer. I think you many be having piriformis syndorm. I know.....What the heck is that!! Well in your buttocks is your Gluteral muscle and under the Gluteral muscle is a muscle about the size of your fist, thru the belly of that muscle runs your sciatic nerve. When that muscle goes into spasam it will clamp down on that muscle and send horrible pain into your low back and/or down your legs. I do piriformis releases everyday. It is one of our offices specialties. You would not believe how many people suffer from this. If you go to a Chiropractor that does know much about it or how to deal with it it won't do much good. It is also something that won't be fixed in one treatment. I am having a garage sale this weekend and I am going on the 180 mile yard sale too. or I would say we could meet and I could check it out for you. If you are willing to drive to Bay City, I could get you fixed up. Do you have Chiropractic coverage? Or you can drive a little further and come and visit me. It's been so long sense I have seen you and I would love to see the kids. Well, I hope you start feeling better. Take care-----Toni

Do not give up hope!!!! Back in the 90's I had Gallbladder surgery. Resulting from that was mysterious pain in my back in the same spot as my attacks happened. The pain radiated to the front under my breast. It was dibilitating and extreme. I was on medication and had been to many doctors and had tests too numerous to name. No one could find a cause. I was suicidal at that point. I was taking heavy doses of pain meds and washing them down with alcohol to make myself feel better. One day I made an appt with this doctor who was like 150 years old. he says he knew what was wrong with me and started me on nerve blocks in my back. I went regularly for months. The very first shot took the pain away though. I remember sitting in my car sobbing after I left that first visit. A few years ago, A small cyst popped up in that exact spot and casued me nerve pain for a long time. I had it out and have been pretty good ever since. The nerve is still regenerating in that spot, so I am not pain free, but close to it. Anywhoo, that my story of hope. I found this website for you and it sounded close to what you are experiencing. Lots of people find their cures right on the internet these days. Keep us updated. http://orthopedics.about.com/cs/hipsurgery/a/hipbursitis.htm
