Wendy can you believe that KP's butt missle didn't work?!?!? It took like 5 or 6 hours. But I was just saying to Stacey in my response to her that a fiber cereal would be good and I like that you're has raisins in it. I occassionally use Special K with Protein Plus and I could just add in raisins! Maybe I'll add in the hot tea, post surgery I can't drink coffee any longer. Then again, it gives me just the reaction I'm looking for. THANKS! Sheryl In the Zoo

Hi Sheryl Have you ever tried flax seed? I had the same problem . I bought omega 3 vitamins that contain flax in it and it worked great. Some ppl buy flax seeds and grind them and put it in their food, but just the supplement was ok with me and is very cheap. Hope you get some relief soon Hugs Linda

Hi Linda - no I've not tried flax seed but I'm willing to try almost anything. I like that you can get it as a supplement so I'll pick some up at the store later today. Thanks! Sheryl In the Zoo

I discovered something that helps me in the BM department quite by accident = SOY NUTS. I was very constipated once I started eating soft foods and protein drinks, and once I got things moving, so to speak, I began using glycerine suppositories to KEEP things moving. Well, once I started eating food, I tried a recipe that called for coating fish with crushed soy nuts and I also ate a few of those nuts. Well, the next day, things happened all on their own and were sort of "bulked up"......and it was much easier. It didn't immediately occur to me that the soy nuts were responsible, but because I liked the soy nuts I ate them again (just a few, they make a really nice crunchy snack) and the next day the same success in the bathroom! Well, then I started wondering what was responsible for this change and that's when it occurred to me it might be the soy nuts. I've been eating 1 tablespoon a day since then and only rarely do I have to "induce" the BM with a glycerine suppository. Not to be too crude but they are little miracle poop factories! I don't know if they would work for everyone this way, but they sure do for me.

Sheryl; I don't know what your "fat" intake is but you HAVE to have fat in your diet for your bowels to move easily. People that are on a low or non-fat diet will have alot of problems with their bowels. Just a thought!
