36 hours, feel calm, but no one else does
Well, my surgery is in 36 hours and I am at peace. I am packed and ready to go, went rowing out on Hamlin Lake today, hiked through the dunes, didn't worry too much about cleaning the house - I guess I'll get to that tomorrow. I feel confident in my doctor's ability to get the job done. HOWEVER, my mother took it upon herself to call every friggin' relative and tell them about my surgery. I had no plans to. I figured I'd mention it after the fact, if at all.. So now, my phone is ringing off the hook with relatives "anxious" and "concerned" about my welfare. Full of questions, requiring me to justify why I feel I need this drastic measure. Ack! I have spent hours on the phone reassuring my family members that I indeed plan to live and with great gusto at that.
Julie, wishing for some peace and quiet.
Hi Julie,
OK...so I thought you were getting away for the weekend?? I was going to write, but figured you wouldn't get it...so here I am. So sorry to hear about your mom and making sure your family knew before hand. Gotta love those parents at times. haha I just posted that yesterday asking if people were keeping their surgery a "secret" as, so far....I plan to, unless a moment comes to tell an individual. You will do great, and remember we are all here for you. I will see you thursday sometime...my appt. is 11:15 at MMPC...so when I am done there, I will be over.
Big Hugs and lots of prayers
Cheryl
Heya Sisstah!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hear bells ringing, birds singing and the music playing for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, I know this "MOM" thing.............hahahaha I think YOU know that from all of our chats! Mom's can be meddlers, and tellers and they just don't always know when to HUSH!
However, having a MOM who also likes to tell the world things that she shouldn't have..................here's my advice: Screen your calls, and answer which you choose, and leave the rest for AFTER surgery. AND................tell your Mom that she didn't need to tell your relatives because that's YOUR job! Now, tell them all to send flowers to you at her expense!!!!!!!!!!!!!hahahahahahahah.......wouldn't that be a hoot?
So- you could just tell them where you'll be, and what kind of flowers and gifts would make you smile...........(twinkles in her eyes) so go for that one!
In the meantime, I'm hoping that you have a pleasant surgery, speedy recovery and soon, my friend, walking along the shoreline at the lake with your honey!!! (soon!)
Save me a spot on the Lake before Winter sets in (did I say that?)
Love ya girl!
