It seems like forever from right now and I was a little bummed this morning when I found out I had to wait til September I wanted to hear them say "see you in 2/3 weeks" But now I'm kinda just hanging in there waiting to see what happens. Maybe someone will cancel and I'll be next. Is it always this hard waiting?

Congrats on getting past the insurance review board meeting! Was it MCare? How tough were they? I know how disappointing the waiting is. I met with Patty and Bill yesterday and was told that I was a perfect candidate. However, my PCP hasn't documented all of my visits properly. They say they can't submit me to MCare until October or November because my visits last September and December don't count. I was hoping to start the diet and psych evals right away. My PCP says he'll write a letter, but I doubt MCare will accept it. Angela

I don't think I have gotten past the insurance review board, Patti, Bill and the Director have approved me through them... But they have a lot of pull with the insurance company I think. They will set my surgery date on Aug 29th. M-Care can be a long haul, they told me I was a perfect candidate as well. I am looking forward to being able to do more than I have been by being healthier. Just make sure you keep up your month to month visits.

Waiting can be hard. But you have to stay positive. There are some people who wait months and months and months and still don't get approval. Be glad that you are no longer in THAT waiting game. I had my surgery last August at Hurley in Flint. I had a relatively quick turn around, so I was lucky. I had my first consultation in April, was approved in May, had to wait until the surgery schedule came out in June and my doc was on vacation for the month of July. So I found out my date in June and had to wait until August for my surgery. I decided to use the time to my advantage. There really wasn't anything I could do about it. I enjoyed my summer, spent lots of time with my family and made sure "stuff" was organized in my house. So when my date in August rolled around, I was ready, relaxed and totally at peace with my upcoming surgery. So, relax...you've made it over a hurdle that many people are never going to make. Remember, the doctors you are working with have many other patients and probably have surgical obligations outside of their bariatric surgeries. So, your time is coming...sooner, rather than later. Patience is a virtue. Good luck! Tina

How much weight have you lost so far... I am excited but I really am tired of the waiting game already, I am SO grateful to be in the process, I just want to feel better like yesterday.
