How do you take Biotin?

I purchased some Biotin today, and would like to take it, but it looks like it's in capsule form. Does anybody else open the capsule and mix it into something like we do with the actigal? REALLY not looking forward to doing that...but I want to do what I can to help my hair... Blessings, Kim

I have taken a skin/hair/nails formula that is a Meijers brand. I've taken it for a couple of years but I no longer need it. It was a rather large pill but it was coated so I didn't have any problems getting it down. It seemed to work better for me than just the biotin alone.

The tablets I got at Target are just slightly larger than an asprin. But why not just swalow the capsule? If we can get down the calcium citrate tabs or capsules, we can swallow this. I'm on actigall but my doc never said to empty and mix. Gelatin capsules dissolve in water so they should dissolve for us, right? Wonder if I missed something?

My biotin is in capsule form, and I swallow it whole.

Hi Kim, When I first started taking it -I got it at Walgreens in 1000MCG. It was a tablet, not a capsule. I took three of those per day. Then my surgeon said I could take up to 5000MCG a day because Biotin is Water Soluble and what we don't absorb, it leaves our system. The 5000MCG is in capsule form, but I have had NO trouble taking it so far. I just make sure I have not eaten for an hour before I do take it or I feel a bit icky. ps. also I use Finesse Hair Care Products - they contain Soy Protein and I see a huge difference in my hair thickness and length now.
