Hello, my name is Lynn and I need help in finding a Primary Care Physician who is sensitive to those who suffer from morbid obesity. My current PCP it quite inept in that department, whenever I go to his office he is asking me what he should do. For almost 2 yrs he did not keep notes in my records of our talks obout my weight problem :( and the clinic he is out of does not help matters, he finally said "I agree you need bariatriac surgery" but the "office" staff refused to give me a referall to the bariatric surgeons office. Needless to say that was the last time I went to see him and that will be a year in October. What I am searching for is a Dr. in the Metro Detroit area who accepts Blue Care Network, is sensitive to someone with morbid obesity and who is willing to help with the process needed to get the bariatric surgery. Thank's for any help in advance. Lynn S.

Hi Lynn Have you called blue care network yet? Now bcn has what is called a nurse manager who guides you through your health care needs. Just call them and they will tell you who and give you a number to call him/her. Make sure to ask if lap band is covered, i don't think it is. Most ppl have a terrible time getting approved for wls thru bcn, so be prepared to fight. As for a pcp, i have a wonderful one in pontiac, if you need the number just let me know, but it's kinda far i think. Make sure to let them know that you had been to the dr for your weight and he didn't document it. I was the same way. Hugs Linda

Mathias Weitz 248 628 2597 is his office up here in Oxtucky. He's on the ticket. If he is too far then maybe he can refer you to another. kp
