Well for about the 3rd time since my surgery, I was in the ER getting IV fluid for dehydration. This has been the only negative side effect of the surgery for me. I have had the flu for a few days and every time I get sick I end up dehydrated. Anyone else have this as a side effect? I am hoping I don't have to deal with this for the rest of my life. I have been miserable. I feel better tonite, but boy what a deal! Wendy

You poor thing! No I have not had any problems. Are you trying to drink as much as possible? I always have my water with me, no matter where I go. I remember having to force myself to drink in the beginning. I did have a hard time. Are you drinking enough? Carey

It only happens when I get sick. I don't normally have trouble getting in enough fluids day to day, but when I get sick with any kind of stomach bug, I cannot get enough fluid to keep me going. And this time was the worst because of the diarrhea that was unrelenting. Thank you for the sympathy. Wendy

Yes I have dehydration issues also. I have to force myself to keep drinking on a daily basis. I get really light headed or dizzy when I do not have enough fluid in my or even protein. I was in the Er alot my first year post op due to dehydration. I try to carry a water bottle with me all the time to remind myself that I need to drink Tricia

It is nice to know I am not alone Tricia. I normally don't have trouble, but when I get sick, I just can't get my fluids in. This heat doesn't help much either. Thanks for your help. Wendy
