My Loser Husband!

Hi everyone, I have my loser husband at home! He discharged this morning after he took a long stroll and proved that he can still miss the toilet like a pro. He is in moderate discomfort, but doing really well. I made him up a bed on the rollaway sofa couch in our hotel room, so he's got a tv, dvd and vcr at his command. We foraged through our kids movie collection, so he's all set with some quality entertainment. He's a little nauseated still, and the liquid vicodin the gave him tastes terrible! But other than that, he's doing great. Any way to flavor liquid vicodin with harming it? It is really nasty, but I don't think it's bad enough to not take. lol We're here through Wednesday evening, and hope to get to see a little more of the city before we go, if he's up to it later this week. For the next day or two, we're going to try to catch up on lost sleep (that would be me ) and rest, sip, rest, walk, rest, sip. (that's him! ) Thanks again, everyone. KP, if you read this, you should know that whenever Jeff or I mention your name, the light from heaven parts the clouds and shines down into the room itself. Thank you again for everything! Kim

Congratulations. Actually, the more vicodin you take, the better it tastes. It took a couple of days of taking it before I could actually not gag. It may be that your taste buds get numbed by it. I hope he doesn't have to take it that long (I was a total of 4 days) and I still have some left but you couldn't pay me to drink that stuff again. Catch up on your rest, have a great time in Michigan and I look forward to seeing more loser posts.

Thanks, you are very kind but I think that's the methane I left there the other night popping a hole in the ozone. A bottle of loritab and a plate a shrimp is a good Saturday night at my house!! There's nothing you can do for the taste except plug your nose and chug it. I'll see you tomorrow after my kids games. Tell my WLS brother to sip and walk. kp

Hi Kim, Welcome to Michigan, hope you get to enjoy alittle time out and about while you are here. Being cooped in a motel room for that long of time would drive me crazy. Congratulate your husband for me, good to hear he is feeling good, and up and walking. Vicodin...I hate that stuff....I can't gag the pills let alone the liquid. I get so nausea on that stuff....I say....flu**** I hope he feels better soon, and have a safe trip back home. I hope to be on that looser bench...sooner than later. ~Hugs~ Cheryl

I am glad that your hubby is up and moving! Get some rest and KP will take GOOD care of you! Hope you do get to see some of our WONDERFUL Michigan before you leave! Loritab taste ALOT better than Vicodin but he will eventually be able to swallow it without wanting to hurl. Make sure he takes it though to stay ahead of the pain but remember that Vicodin will constipate you so ask the Dr what he can take to help with that also. Take care!!!

Hi Kim, I am glad all has went well. You have been given lots of good advice, Just remember to keep posting and seeking support here on OH as well as finding a local support group. It is so important to know and talk to others on a regular basis that are going thru the same things as you are. Cause nobody can truely understand until they have walked a mile in our shoes. Please let your hubby know that he is in our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. God Bless---Toni

Being a Michigan gal, just thought I would pop in here and see if my friend LindaN from Southfield ever posts. Nevertheless, congrats to your hubby on becoming a loser. Stay well. I had liquid Lortab and it wasn't too bad really. Karen
