When it rains...it pours

The excitement continues...I received an awesome, unexpected call while taking my walk this afternoon. It was my supervisor calling to ask me to fly to St. Louis on Monday to help out a short-staffed lab. I work as a Medical Laboratory Technician-yep, I'm the one who narcs on you when you haven't been taking your vitamins or have been cheating on sugar and high fat foods. Don't shoot the messenger. Anyway, I used to travel all the time doing stuff like this but stopped when I was asked by a flight attendant to switch seats when she saw me sitting in an emergency exit row while using a seatbelt extender. Apparently they had a rule that if you used an extender you would be too big to fit through the door and would block everybody else. So you are just supposed to stay on the plane and die?? Not. I was sooo embarrassed. I can't wait to see if I am past the extender zone, if the tray will come all the way down, if I will be comfortable. I am so excited and so ready to travel for the company again. It is such a blast to go out and meet different people, see different parts of the country - it's a vacation even though you are working. Yet another opportunity the WLS has afforded me.

Congratulations Sarah...I am sure since your surgery, you will be able to sit in the seat more comfy, and not get embarrassed. If only those darn skinny people knew what it was like to be overweight, then to have them totally embarrasse you in front of others. Good luck on your flight and enjoy the quick "vacation". I hope to be a looser soon. How much have you lost so far? ~hugs~ Cheryl

Sarah, I've been there and done that. I will be flying to Vegas in December and I'm anxious to see how well I fit in the seat and if the tray will actually come down far enough to use it. I also never want to see a seat belt extender ever again.

Hi Sarah, How exciting for you. I used to live in Dearborn Heights Michigan before we left the state. I grew up in Oak Park. I envy your position. Have a fun life, that is what this WLS affords us. Karen
