Jeff made it to the loser's bench at 9:30 this morning. He was in his room and resting as best he could when I left. Dr. Pleatman did an outstanding job and the surgery went great. Kim is super cool a great support system for her husband. I am proud to have met them. More later as he gets through this first fun filled day. kp

OK. Obviously you've all had experience with KP, but in my neck of the woods, people like this guy are few and far between. He came over to our hotel the night before Jeff's surgery, held our hands for about an hour, wished us well, then showed up this morning at the hospital at about 6:30 in the morning. He stayed with me all through the surgery so I wouldn't be alone, bought me juice and water, and oohed and aahed over my kids pictures. Then he came in with me to see my new loser husband, before gracefully excusing himself so Jeff could rest. And he checked up on him later in the day, too. Kevin, a very heartfelt thankyou from an overwhelmed and grateful pair of Oregonians. This whole process has been miraculous for us, but your support and friendship has been the icing on our cake. (SF of course :D ) Thank you. Thank you everyone also who has supported us with advice and encouragement. I look forward to getting to post about Jeff's journey and hopefully my own in the next year or so. Jeff is doing really well. He took a cruise around the hallway, and while he didn't blow any speed records, he stayed upright without flapping out of his gown, so we were all pleased. His pain is under control, and once his foley is out, he'll be in great shape. He is excited to have finally made this dream a reality, and to be able to be on this side is awesome. So - Thank you, everyone! Now I can say I have family in Michigan. Kim
