7 months out & back on the table
I saw my surgeon today and I will be having surgery this coming Friday. He is very happy with my progress (his nurse didn't even recognize me), but I have a huge hernia that needs repaired. He'll also be removing that loose suture that's sticking out of my tummy.
As to my progress, I'm down 140 lbs - I have about 65 more to go then I'll start looking at reconstructive surgery. I started in a size 34w (4x/5x) and yesterday I bought a size 18. I'm still taking ballroom dancing so we do a couple of hours of dancing a week, I swim 3-4 times a week... I feel great!
For those that have had a hernia repair (my surgeon is doing it lap w/ mesh), how long were you down? He told me that I can go back to my swimming in about a week, but I have dance classes Monday night and a meeting Tuesday night. I don't plan on actually dancing Monday night - jus****ching but what about my meeting on Tuesday? Too much too soon or should I be ok?

In the Zoo
Sheryl,
Wow what a great accomplishment you have done!!! WOW!!!
It's so wonderful to see how far you've come--I know that feeling going from a 4x to a size 18...and lower!!! There is so much more shopping to be done isn't there?
Which hospital will you be at and will someone be handling communicating on the board how you are? If you don't have anyone to do that, I will take on that honor if someone would call me and let me know. Just let me know if you need an "angel" for this surgery!!!
I wish you a peaceful surgery and an easy recovery!!!
Let me know if you need anything- anything at all!!!

Stacey! That is so sweet of you to offer! And thank you for your encouragement! Kathy C will be in contact with me on Friday night so I think she'll be posting an update.
I'll be at Borgess in the Zoo.... unfortunately. I'm a Bronson fan but they won't purchase the materials that the surgeon uses for this surgery. So.... as I digress.... I'll be at Borgess.
